Innovative Moisture Measurement in Research and Practice
Material Properties and Processes
October 12–14, 2011 in Karlsruhe
In October 2011 the conference „Innovative Moisture Measurement in Research and Practice – Material Properties and Processes“ takes places, which has been organized by CMM regularly since 2003. With the event we offer an exchange platform for developer, distributer and users of different moisture measurement techniques and probes for mutual benefit.
Important Dates
In 2011 for the first time we divided the event into two parts:
- On October 12, 2011 the autumn school takes place for the first time.
The autumn school is focused on the needs of graduate and PhD students in the field of soil, clay and material science or metrology and is open for all who work in the area of moisture measurement.

Additional Information
The autumn school is focused on the needs of graduate and PhD students in the field of soil, clay and material science or metrology and is open for all who work in the area of moisture measurement.
Topics of the workshop are:
- Mineralogical fundamentals with focus on clay minerals
(Katja Emmerich, CMM KIT) - Hydration properties of swelling clay minerals
(Dr. Eric Ferrage, Uni Poitiers, France) - Dielectric properties of water in different interaction states
(Dr. Udo Kaatze, Uni Göttingen) - Models for complex permittivity of mineral soils
(Dr. Norman Wagner, Uni Weimar) - Permittivity measurements and determination of water content in mineral soils
(Dipl.-Ing. Franz Königer, IFG KIT)
