Moisture Monitoring During the Experiment on Gas Permeability of Clay Rock / HG-A (Gas Path through Host Rock and Along Seals) Experiment: Preliminary Interpretation of Gas Injections

At the Mont Terri Swiss rock laboratory, propagation behavior of gases through the surrounding opalinus clay rock is studied in a sand-filled borehole. At variable pressure, gas is injected into the sand packing and the propagation behavior as a function of time is determined by means of various sensors that also measure moisture in the sand. TAUPE cable sensors and TDR technology are used.
